    New Scythe Build .... AngleSet?

    Howdy.

Building a Scythe with a Triple Clamp for lifts and shuttles.

Thinking of an Angleset to slack out DH 8" setting. Or just run 7" DH setting and standard headset.

    Any opinions?

    Peace Out!

Buy a shorter shock. You get more benefits this way. Slacker HA and lower BB.

Can´t speak for the Cane Creeks, but the Works Components are simply set-and-forget.

Go angle set, short shock, and offset bushings.

ha! that would be a slammed bike!

to the OP I have a CCDB 8.5 x 2.5 on my Scythe and it is a huge improvement over the stock 8.75 x 2.75. For me the geo changes negate the travel limits. Also worse case you are only losing .6" of travel.

I put a -2 deg works component headset, didnt want the shorter shock option. I still change between the 7" and 8" option, depending on the trail I'm riding. I feel you get more adjustability with the angle reducer headset than a shorter shock.

Yeah I weighed the options pretty heavy when I was looking. For me the benefit of lowering the BB was been the most significant. It really transformed how the bike handled at speed. Do you have any measurements of what changed when you put in the Works headset?
