    I don't know yet.

But on the track, it feels super light! I have also a heavy 140mm steel hardtail and the hardtail drives like a tank compared to the Banshee.

Ride my Spitfire in raw for some time. Now Santa brought me long awaited Marzocchi 55 rc3 Ti fork. The fork is really plush and it is on the level with amazing frame. Bike is enduro oriented with tough tyres, strong wheelsets, brakes.
New Saint pedals goes nice with slx cranks.
Not sure about the weight of the bike. It was 17 kilos with both tyres 2ply Maxxis minion and heavier pedals.

    just in time for spring

    came together like a charm:

frame: used - large - anodized
    fork: rockshox revelation rct3
wheels: dt swiss xm laced to chris king
tires: tioga psycho genius (tubeless conversion)
seatpost: syncros - back to the roots !
    seat: specialized henge titanium rails
    stem: thompson 50mm
    bars: easton haven 711mm
    grips: sunline
    brakes: shimano xt
derailleur: shimano xt shadow plus (1x11-36)
cranks: race face evolve w/ blackspire 34
    pedals: vp lite

    rides beautiful !

it reminds me so much of my trusted santa cruz blur 4x with its slack angles and low bottom bracket. it is my new weapon of choice for twisty single trail. heard a lot of horror stories about the bushings and hope that regular maintenance will keep them tight.

    cheers,

    rolf

That is a really nice restoration, Mr. Tiki.

I miss my Spitty (sold it a few years ago)... I think I ran into you at Sycamore Canyon in Riverside awhile back. I was with Tony (Mr. Hobbs on STR).

I remember meeting you that ride, it was good one! I was gonna sell my frame, but decided to keep it, glad I did. After riding my podium and delirium for everything the last couple years the spitty feels like an xc rig.

Lubo on STR has a medium 2010 Spitfire in RAW, but he is now riding his new Giant Anthem 29er a lot more.

I moved over to a 2012 Bandit 29 and TransAM. I missed the low BB and slack HA of the Spitty.

I still run into Tony now and then. We road Palm Canyon Epic (down Art Smith) this past year.

The new 2013 Rune and Prime are really sick. I demo'd a Prime at The Path Banshee demo earlier this year. The bike rides crazy off of drops and jumps... very stable and stiff rear.

I've heard great things about all the bikes you mentioned. Very tempting, but I think I'm gonna stick with my current fleet till next year. Although the fat bike threads on here and str are very tempting.

I must say to all V1 owners: I've had both the V1 and V2, and I really liked the V1 better. Put me in the minority camp I guess, but the V1 was easier to handle and throw around.

The V2 felt like a sherman tank. Guess it's magnificent bike for the shore, or burlier places. Came in around 34 pounds... Bit too much for my riding here. I quickly sold my V2 and bought a SC TRC. The TRC feels like the Spitfire of old, but with a couple pounds less!!

Keep on coming the V1 pics. Lovely bike.

    Picked this up yesterday.

    Banshee Spitfire Pics-p4pb10195575.jpg

I built it up but am working out some kinks and need to get a better photo.

    Current build:
    Lyrik Coil U-turn 115-160mm
DT Swiss 340 with EX5.1 hoops
    Thomson X4 70mm stem
ODI flight control 750mm bars (have Spank Royola 762mm bars that I might swap)
Hayes Prime Pro brakes with 185mm Avid rotors (not an idea mate between calipers, mounts, and rotors)
    Cane Creek 40 headset
    Truvativ Stylo cranks
    Tiogo Flat pedals
Sram 9spd XO rear derailleur with X9 shifter
    Reverb dropper post
    Specialized saddle
    Lizard skin grips

Anyone found what they think is an idea fork height (travel)? I think I have the rear shock in the slack mount hole.
