    2012 Banshee Rune...When

Any idea when it is coming? I've heard it should be here in the 1st week of Dec but I can't find anything about an actual date. I see some websites listing 2012's but I can't tell if these are really 2012's.

It's supposed to have the improved bushing/axel. Slightly slacker geometry. Otherwise it is unchanged.

    Anyone?

Listen! 2012 in a few days

In a few days it will be 2012 and yet no 2012 RUNE available. It will be interesting to see the new changes and I am expecting some because of the time it has taken to launch the 2012 RUNE. "When" is the question.

I thought it was the 2013 that was going to have all the changes?

6 weeks ago Keith from banshee stated, that there is not even a prototype of the Rune V2 running and that the new version will not be available befor end of 2012....

    hmmm

    www dot bikebling.com/Banshee-Rune-Frame-p/banshee-rune.htm

look at that link....it has a Rune with slightly slacker geometry, lower bb and noting the Keronite pivot axles and UHMWPE inserts .....doesn't line up to the specs on the current Rune on Banshee's site....seems to fall in line with what I've read here or there....i.e. a new bike is coming out sometime..... If it is in the next few months...I'll wait....if not I'd like to know so I can hunt down a Nomad.

    I hope bikebling isn't taking pre-orders for 2013....

it's seems like the bike exists...they are just waiting to get the new axels/bushing dealo sorted out....

Than Keith has not said the truth. Besides the awsome test-ride I did on the wildcard, a second reason for buying the wildcard frame now, was the statement, that the Rune V2 won´t be available before end of 2012....

Sorry Keith, I apologize, it was Jon Hadfield. Here is what he wrote me:

    Andy,

The Rune V2 will be a 2013 bike at the earliest. We have not even built a prototype yet, so it may be released even later than 2013.

    Thanks

They should be avaliable shortly (within next month I believe). The distributor will be able to give more accurate shipping dates than I can.

The first batch Rune V1.5 frames should be landing at distributors in the next 2 weeks & out to dealers shortly after that.

The 2012 Rune V1.5 is a slight evolution of the current model, not a complete redesign.

The changes for the Rune V1.5:

    -1 degree slacker head angle
    -5mm lower BB height
-added strengthening brace at base of downtube
-Pre installed UHMWPE repalcable wear washers in pivot locations
    -Keronite axles as standard.

The spitfire doesn't change much except for the pivot modifications as mentioned for the rune.

Youll have to excuse me if this is a dumb question but Will these be mods that can be added to the V1?

So what would incentivise someone shopping for a Rune/Spitfire now? Knowing that there are more changes upcoming, wouldn't people just wait and hold out for the completely changed products?

There is not going to be a completely new spitfire for quite some time, so you'll be in for a long wait. Besides the current spitfire is still a stand out product (just ask anyone how it rides one), that has been upgraded for the V1.5.

Great changes. I imagine switching to a bearing pivot is much more time consuming. Is that the only change planned for V2.0?

the pivot axles are grey. plastic washers between bushing should wear face and frame. someone posted a photo of the new axles in the bushing wear thread.

i meant the washers that are now gled? to the frame. i've seen pictures of the parts. i wondered about a picture of the rear triangle and seeing how the washers are now added. the machining for the washers etc.
