You Yangs trails are all CLOSED until further notice.

This notice was copied from GMBC club.

    ---------------------------------------
If you haven't heard already, the rain this week is causing a few problems at the You Yangs and as of today all trails (MTB & Walking tracks) are closed until at least Monday.
The Park Rangers don't close trails without good reason so this means that this Friday's NFF race and the planned Social ride on Sunday are both cancelled.
Hopefully things will dry out enough to get back on the trails next week - we'll keep you posted!

Update, The following post was made by the Ranger in Charge at the You Yangs:

    -------------------------------------

"At this point in time (Saturaday 15) the whole park remains closed, with extensive water still flowing from the hill, trees are saturated and falling. One of the toilets at Kurrajong now has a tree on top of it.

It will be mid to late this week before Kurrajong tracks (15,16 & 17) are opened. Crews will commence tree clearing on Monday and drainage works to get running water off the tracks need to be completed before the tracks are open.

Stockyards will remain closed for at least the next 2 - 3 weeks, wheels on these tracks will only prolong the opening proceedure.

As for the rest of the park, access to the picnic grounds will open Monday afternoon. Flinders Park Walk and East/West walk will be long time closures due to damage and minor land slips. Big Rock Rd and Great Circle Drive will remain closed until road works are complete.

Save your fuel, get the road bike out and give us some time to get the place ridable, considerable numbers of people came out today and were turned away, most accepted the fact, a couple of the others did not and are now paying the $238.00 fee for failing to take head of park signage.

We will update this site, local bike shops and the GMBC and YYMTBINC clubs as the park re opens.

    Thanks

    You Yangs Regional Park
