I'm over in Rotorua riding in 3 days, does anyone know if the shuttles run on Weekdays?
If not is it a long haul to the trail heads?

In the Redwoods they only do week days in the school holidays.

They have just opened up some down hill MTB tracks at the Skyline Luge that are worth a go also, You go up on the cable car.

How long are you there for ?

That does look nice! We only had a very short time to spend on W2K, so I hardly scratched the surface. I saw a bit of the view; what a spectacular lake! Might have done a longer ride there on Sunday if it wasn't pouring rain and we were soaked and muddy enough after Saturday at Rotorua to pass on another wet ride. I'm really hoping I get a chance to get back and do more riding, and more of the W2K would be on my list.

This clear weather that's hit us is going to do wonders for the trails in Rotorua. I'd ride up the main ones if I's you. Rode the Skyline Gondola last week...the runs are very short. Only worth a half day if you're going to do. You can rent bikes from them too.

What days you riding Rotorua? I'm bringing an Aussie client down to ride this Sunday through Wednesday. Could hook up if you're looking for others to ride with.

Grade - us or the trails? We're shuttling Sunday arvo, so I think we'll be mostly XC trails Monday. Taupo tuesday. Look out in the car park for a white Ford Ranger with bike racks on the ute lid.

That's interesting about skyline, only half a day's worth? Three of us are arriving on the 22nd of this month getting a van and riding for 7 days, were hoping to break the hills up with some shuttles, i think we will get them at the star of the school holidays, does it get crazy busy over there? We are basing ourselves around Rotorua. Will add rainbow mountain to the list.

It will be busy, but Southstar should put more buses on. Follow Southstar Shuttles Rotorua on facebook to get morning updates on what's running.

Rainbow mountain up and down will take you a little less than an hour. Park at the end of Old Waiotapu Rd, ride, then follow it up with a soak in Kerosene Creek beside where you parked the car.

Thanks, can't wait. All we are planning on doing is riding so I guess we will be in no hurry anyways. This app looks great, shame it is not out for android yet:

There's plenty of maps in the forest, and a great cloth one you can get at the shops.
