Having easter at Dunedin. Riding Destinations?

I'm keen to see the trails at Alexandra. What else should I see? Preferably close to Dunedin.
    Cheers.

I've been reading a few threads and will do some reading up on websites , but some local knowledge would be great. I wouldn't mind hiring a Santa Cruz Tallboy LTc if there are any local shops hiring out.

    Hi Hud

Alex is good. Naseby is also a top location to ride in. Dunedin itself has quite a few decent trails (check out mountain biking otago).

As for rental bikes, you will be extremely lucky to find a rental of that nature. Most rentals here are basic. What size frame? I might have something you could use.

Very generous of you to offer, thanks Shalom.
I have a Giant XTC 29er living at my in-laws in Christchurch. I will be bringing that, but was hoping to demo a TB LT ( just for something to do.)
I'd be keen to hook up for a ride if you'd be interested, a guide is always good.

Not a problem. Would be happy to show you round.

SC is very much a boutique brand here, so is only really ordered when someone wants to buy one. And definitely no hope of a demo, sorry to say. You might be able to try some Specialized's, as the LBS has a demo fleet. Might pay to enquire - Cycle World Dunedin.

    Hi Hud

Let me know when you are down. We will be away for a few days at some stage, but more than happy to hook up and show you some trails if you are keen and the weather plays along.

That'd be great! This friday and saturday are my ride days. We will be staying at Mosgiel. I'm really keen to do a trip to Alexandra one day and then I'm happy to ride anywhere where there is good singletrack. XC trails are my thing but a good out and back epic trip with scenery is great.
I'll keep in touch and give you a mobile number once I have one.

    Cheers

No worries. I expect that we will still be in town on Friday and Saturday, but who knows how that will go. Depends on the boss

XC is definitely more my thing as well. Will PM you my mobile number. Let me know how things go when you get here.

Thank you Shalom! (sorry haven't been on here for a while)
It was great to put a face to a name and see a few more NZ trails. It was a great run up and down Nicol's Creek trail. Stunning view from the top!
I'm planning a write-up and will post some pics some time soon.
Naseby was great too. I met up with 6 kiwis who were there for easter and they showed me a lot I'd never have found.
