    Cup Day Ride

I'm keen to do Blores Hill and Erica if possible. Erica is about 140km from home (Mt Evelyn) or 2hrs 20 mins according to google maps. Erica to Blores Hill is about another hour.
So can we do both in a day?
Should we do one or the other?
How long does it take to do both places in their entirety?
Are either of the places signposted or mapped?
    I'd appreciate any advice.

    Who's keen?

    Edit:

Found a trail map of blores that is probably good enough??

Blores is semi-signposted, well it was the last time i was there, it may be more so now. Check Trail Maps Not sure how up to date and detailed the info is, but it's a start.

Haven't ridden Erica yet, but haven't ridden Blores and that was a good couple of years ago now. From all accounts it has improved alot since then, and it was already pretty good back then. They used to race national rounds there.

I hear good things about Erica too, but don't know much more than that.

Frustratingly this will be the first MTBR ride that is in my backyard(ish), good ole' Gippsland. Frustrating because I wont be there to partake, but more so because I will actually be in the sky on my way home....

    Enjoy.

It would probably take a few hrs to do most of the Erica trails if you ride each and move on but don't mess about on them or try stuff more than once.

Take note that most of the SSS loop is closed due to bridge work. All other trails except Berries are signposted and you found the map. Maps are available to non-rotorburners at Bancoora.

You are talking almost 7hrs of driving to make Blores and back via Erica, so it will be a big day to put in a couple of hrs at Erica then a similar time at Blores.

Blores trails are much more beginner stuff than Erica. Depends what you are looking for. You can get a look at Erica on youtube. Search for EricaMTB or Erica MTB Park.

Blores is also a bit of a spagetti junction, take the map, as most signs are just trail numbers without direction to find your way back.

I reckon you could fill a day at either by playing on the trails, or get a taste of both doing the main trails.

Thanks for the info Fattrax, just what I needed. Might just do Erica if a ride does happen.

Just a suggestion Hud, but Blores will avoid more of the forecasted rain over the next few days.
    I see hills.

    I want to climb them.

I'm kind of thinking with all the rain that is to come I'd like to drive out to Bacchus Marsh and ride the GDT to Trentham and incorporate Byers Back track. I've been looking at a few maps etc and it looks like it'd be great fun. Just need a guide preferably...

We are doing a ride at Blackwood. See the watering hole section on rotorburn for details.

If you would ever like a guide around blores hill or some off the lesser known trails within reach of blores, then shoot me a pm im in maffra 2 weekends of most months and would be more than willing to show you around. Their are some good techy trails at blores if you know were to look and some harder stuff a little further out and a little more well hidden.

As for erica, great place lover it but i avoid it after rain
