Coming to Australia (Sunshin coast) and need advice

We will be heading to Australia for a few weeks next March & April and I would like to take a bike. The extra cost to get a bike there means I can only take one. I have road, Cross and a FS MTB. We will be staying between Fraser Island and Noosaville.

If you are familiar with that area what would you bring and where would you ride? Please tell me what you like about it and give me descriptions. I know this is MTBR and expect most responses to be MTB related but that is OK. I really don't think I would bring the cross bike and roads are roads just different views but singletracks and terrain can really vary so I am already leaning towards the MTB.

Are you a road biker that likes hills? Try this Michigan Mountain Mayhem.
