    Castlemaine ride Monday

Few details yet but J_775 is doing a ride and John and I are tagging along. He has given the ok for others to come. It'll be a cruisey ride as he's a bit unfit apparently but it should be great fun. In the morning we will do a out and back on the Dry Diggings trail (as much as we feel like) then a venture into Pineys in the arvo.
    More details later.

Jason can't get til 11 which I felt didn't leave enough time, so I figured I'd do one close to home and go to St Andrews. You interested in that?
I don't know where to go on at Castlemaine, so I can't lead a ride.
    Hmm...dunno...

Hud, recommend pencilling in a future time for a Castlemaine group ride. We ended up with a sweet clear day and did from town out to Vaughan Springs and back. About 50k, didn't have a computer. Don't really need a ride leader who has done it before, there's track markers at every turn-off. The weir at Vaughan is a great turnaround point, and would be great for a swim after a warm ride, and Poverty Gully water race makes the last 10k very tidy. Hot soup in front of a fire with too many trendy Melbourne types staring at muddy bikers was a good way to thaw out.

Out of time for the Pineys this trip, but heading back up there mid-July, so will hit up the plantation then. There's been a bit of harvesting, so not sure how intact the network is.
