    Booked, 8 days NZ

I just booked my air ticket to Auckland for an 8 day MTB inhale this March

At the moment i was thinking

    arriving noon at Auckland
jump in rental car drive to Rotorua, get a couple hours ride in, what time is sunset?

    Then 2-3 days Rotorua
    the Taupo area, Lake loop?

i base my Rotorua ideas on this video on the Rotorua MTb club website, give a great overview.

Then on day 5, drive back to Auckland and fly to Queenstown.
An afternoon and one or one and a half more days in Queenstown.
So probably more of a highlights kind of itinerary.
I've seen videos of Rude Rock and stuff.
So call it 2 days in Queenstown, what would you do?

Comments, advice? How much would shuttles c cost. Planning to bring my own bike.

    Thanks

You will love the riding in Rotorua.

My Sig has some more shots of what the trails are like there.

It is fun to ride in the redwoods at night to.

if you use the shuttle in Rotorua the prices are around $10 for 1 ride, $40 for 6 rides, Can't remember how many for $100, But $200 gets you 60 rides.

Take your bike up the gondola in Queenstown, it's worth doing. I was there two weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not just for downhill bikes either, I took my Reign and it was fine.

not to thread hijack but I will be flying into Auckland in October. Is it good to MTB in October and is Rotorua the closest to Auckland to MTB in? (I might not get a rental car).

I haven't been there yet but this place recently opened just south of Auckland; Fourforty MTB Park - Mountain bike park New Zealand
I think you'd still want a car to get there.
