That's not good news about Puddleduck. Is he OK?

I asked around Mike, but can't find anyone. Maybe I could do some laps on my down time for my team?

    'sif Phil's not serious. Bah.

    err...muddy...

Had a blast. We held good pace the entire 24hrs, despite the conditions. There was early heavy rain (but only on my first lap), and steady drizzle for about 20 out of 24 hours, the track managed to dry quickly when the rain held off for long enough, but there were still plenty of boggy, slippery climbs.

We used my mobile phone as a lap timer for our marquee, so we would know when transition was due approximately, but the phone went flat after about 12 hours I think. The first day's course was changed 3 times to avoid the worst of the boggy areas, and this consequently shortened the lap times in the first few hours and caught us out a few times.

Our group, Duncan, Rik, Craig and myself finished in second place in the Foursomes Male category out of 42 (got a cool trophy - pics tomorrow) and sixth overall. Very proud of our efforts.

Topping off a great weekend, Duncan's son (on his birthday) finished first in their category of School Supersixes Boys.

Well done! I notice Meagan and Andrew did well too, although I suspect Andrew needs some sleep after 4 consecutive night laps.

    It was an awesome weekend
Us girls looked very pink in our new team kit, thanks to the awesome Stevob for delivery with a smile
Had a ball, learnt heaps and got very muddy!
LOVE Forrest; my first go on those trails. Especially enjoyed track 14 (?) through the grass trees, and Foxtail in Mariners Run this morning was great!
edit to add - Andrew is sound asleep already.. He did the first lap, the middle of the night stint and the last lap for his team which worked in well with my laps.

Great effort all round given the unfortunate weather. Sounds like most of you had a 'ball'. Congradulations to the place getters, big effort.
Noticed some of the night laps were quick. Was this due to track changes to address to weather or were these changes for the night period?

Ok so forget that. just re-read results relised those quicker laps were early in the race not 'tuther way round

Yeah, those were the first day lap which had chunks of singletrack take out and replaced with fireroad, which dropped the times significantly, but also made it worse for some of those on single speeds.

Going through all the results now.

Yep fabulous event- who needs a fourth team member anyway!
1st time for me at Forrest too and 1st 24hr
Had a lot of fun - Rode the 1st day loop in the dark(mostly) on Friday night
It was still dry and in good nick then and were thinking it was going to be all good for the race.

I don't know how those solo guys do it
amazing race I think we'll be there again next year
