Hi, I will be in Bali next week.
The web site of trailblazer is out of run. Some suggestions? where they are located?

Good zone for a bike day trip?

hi, i was there 2wks back solely to ride. it was great. did 2 days of riding over the weekend.

some phts i managed to grab here, http://www.flickr.com/photos/intosit...067315/detail/
not much phts from the first day as we were just solely concentrating on the ride down.

some vids from day 1, doesnt do the ride justice as there's no footage of the first 10km which was just smooth flowly down single track. need to get a helmet cam.

    vid of day 2
nice scenic views, more pedalling involved.

    some garmin data,
    day 1 part 1 : http://connect.garmin.com/page/activ...tem&cid=871927
    day 1 part 2 : http://connect.garmin.com/player/41124849
    day 2 : http://connect.garmin.com/player/41124833

we had 7 riders, each paid bout $50usd a day which included transportation to the top and back and lunch mid way...

the guide's super friendly, you can try giving him a buzz and tell him what kinda trails you would like to ride or something with more of scenic views, or even one that just to see how the locals live in the rural parts of bali...

here's his site, he's a local, so his english is not great, but should be good enough to communicate.

the start of the trails are bout 2hrs away by mini bus from the main tourist spots. we left our villa at bout 8 n got back by 5-7pm...

It looks like mountainbikebali.com has plagiarised a little from bali-trailblazers.com - quite a lot of the text is copied from one to the other, and other parts just have guide names exchanged. Wonder if they know each other, or are competitors?

In any case, I'm heading there in 3 weeks, and may try out the Batur crater rim ride if I can convince my wife to give it a go - it looks like quite a good ride.

Yup from what i understand, the 2 guides from mountain bike bali used to be part time guides with the other company, and there's only a few locals that know bout the trails.
