I am curious to learn about MTB'ing in the Philippines. What are the popular brands for bikes, components, suspensions etc? Also where are the hot spots for MTB'ing?

We have specialized, giant, merida.... Carbon is common but Ti is harder to find.
The nice thing here isa that shimano parts are cheaper than in the usa

Less than $150 for xtr shadow rd plus
    $150 for a 2x10 xt crank
$400 for xtr breakset ... Thats front and rear including xt 6bolt rotors 203mm and 180mm
    Xtr fd is $70
    Xtr shifter set is $150

In the past couple of years there has been a number of man made trails inside army camps that are open to civilians. $1.10 for the common entrance fees. There are around 3 or 4.

A few provinces that have nice sceneries near the metro manila are common trail grounds. Mostly just 1hr drive or less. 1 is a nature reserve park.

5years ago it was not so common.
