Yuma, 116 degree heat index, 26 miles :)

Call me crazy, but I did it. 25.95 miles, 112 degrees, half of it into a headwind. A little over 3 hours of ride time. On a 31 pound FS all mountain bike no less, not exactly a road bike. Mix of asphalt/dirt road/city. Rode to the gun store, shot some rounds, and rode home. More of a personal challenge really. I knew it was super hot and it would suck but oh well. I've only been riding about a month but my endurance has always been ok for a 220-pounder. (I'm built for torque, NOT for speed) I went through 100oz of Gatorade and 3/4 gallon of water like it was going out of style. I made 3 stops along the way at 9.5 (Taco Bell), 12.75 (Gun store), and 18 miles(Circle K). I won't be doing that route again but it was actually fun in a way to know I had to skirt a fine line between exerting myself and over exerting myself in the heat. The last 3 miles I was ready to be home in the A/C for sure.

I figured on a 3-4 hour ride and a 4 hour time-to-exit for Taco Bell. Lol

I have heard of that kind of "drive" for sex or drugs but a gun store? That is just too funny imo. Totally dig the post...and guns but gosh dang boy that sun is 15 feet above you head the entire time!!!
