XT 22t steel chainring? Help needed.

What steel chainring do I need to look at to replace a circa '08 XT 22t granny on a triple crank?

I've done plenty of research so I thought this would be easy. Most say Deore or SLX so I went to Paragon to pick up a Deore but it won't work. My aluminum granny says SG-X 22-AA/AC and the problem I am having is my ring has countersunk (for lack of better word) chainring bolt holes. The ones I have found do not. The countersink is to accept the small spacer over each bolt hole.

Any experience with this? I can just order the same ring no prob but I really would prefer a steel ring.

I rode up mud flaps at Hawes yesterday using my middle ring only since my small ring has major chain suck. Yeah I know a lot of you do that all the time, but damn, I almost had a heart attack.!

Your limits are both physical and mental. Suffering will help you find and overcome both.

XT had alloy granny, slx had steel. Steel doesn't have countersunk holes, as it can be thinner for the same strength. I have not seen a countersunk steel granny. Measure the thickness of a steel ring and an alloy ring. I believe you will find the alloy thicker, hence the countersunk holes. Alloy Raceface rings work great, and are pretty cheap.
