    winter canal century

or how to spend all day
    on the redheaded step child
    of the road bike.
it was time to get out and explore the east/se
    part of the valley.
it was dark and foggy when i left the house.
just dark and cold when i got home.

Did you seriously log a c-note on the canal?
If so, what was your saddle time?

Today of all days too...man, that's hardcore.

si. something like 8+ hours in the saddle. maybe 20% roads but we could have made that 10% if we really wanted to.
it was on sat so not quite like sunday weather.

Not yet, hiked some of Lost Dog today with the fam. Scenic, looks like a fun climb up Sunrise. I will be out there on the bike wednesday or Thursday.

man, that's a cool ride! and you took the perfect bikes, too, i think.

when i lived in the valley, i used to love riding on the canals... when i visit my parents i still always take the canal from scottsdale to trail 8a at phx mtns rather than drive to ride... in fact, i remember, as a kid, taking my first long bike ride down the canals with my dad from scottsdale to papago park. the canals certainly give you a different perspective of the valley.

a canal century! what a great idea! you guys rock! i wanna go next time!
