Who wants to ride this week ?

Thanks to my unexpected unemployment, I am riding my @ss off this week.

I hit National this morning and met up with Winded. Great to meet you and good riding with you !

The rest of the week looks like this:

PMP on Tuesday at 530 am with Grave9
MMP comp loops on Wednesday at 530 am
    Sedona on Thursday
Flagstaff on Friday with Grave9 and Blatant
    Sunrise on Saturday
    Show Low on Sunday

If you want to ride on any of these days, shoot me a pm and we will figure out any specifics.

    Rick

I have a feeling I will have quite a few Wednesdays off in the next couple of months.

5:30 am tomorrow at PMP is pretty early. I think I might head out there around 7 for you other slackers that sleep in. Swaampy? Doodoo? Kavu? Others?

I'll do a Thursday am. It'll give a me a good chance to try out the new BB7's and get back on the FS 26er at the same time. Its been a while and with all the chunk being shown here lately between SoMo and PMP, I find it hard to pass up.
Today's the day I eat bikes.

I just talked to my buddy and he can't be out there untill 645 so we will also be starting around 7.

I believe he has a 16 mile course mapped out for the race that we will be pre-riding.
We will be riding in the reverse direction of the normal flow of traffic. That will make for a cool change of pace out there.

I will be in a white Xterra with off-road lights mounted up top.

I'm always game for something new. Looks like low temps overnight but no cloud cover so I vote for early because that dang ol' ball o' fire will heat things up fast, especially climbing. 5:30 or 6ish? Where to meet?

minor change of plan to avoid HAB for my balky back and Maad's balky knee... we're leaving 46th St. about 5:30, climbing and then either taking Geronimo or National back down.

Thanks for the ride this morning, fellas. Pretty bummed about the weaksauce first impression, turning back at the top of Javelina, but it turned out to be the right decision. Nothing like a cup of coffee or a steady climb to knock something loose . I need to get up early more regularly so my biology doesn't freak out. Not the best impression, but better than the one you'd have had if I stayed and pedaled on!

Hope the rest of the ride was good for you guys. Looks like the sun was in full effect. That's a lot of baking if you went all the way to BV!

Agreed. Hope my journey lasts longer next time.

Did make it. I was happy about that. I had visions of rooster tails on widowmaker. I was tired but fine when I reached the top of Javelina then the bottom dropped out. Felt like I drank a pot of coffee, of which I had none. You know you're getting old when the body doesn't like changes of habit.

I didn't think of the bench as an option, if I had I might have continued on. I could have always lost the chones and picked them up later in the week too! Was that azdog's technique? I remember someone last week claimed a pair. Hilarious.

that ride was like a bunch of one-legged men at an ass-kicking contest. I was hauling a half-dead leg up the hill - Ceno got a nice view of me putting my foot out when i had no power to climb something and then toppling over. Maad and I grunted up to Geronimo and took that home. I went super-slow afraid my leg would buckle, but had a great ride. It didnt seem too much different than normal to me, maybe some of the weather effects have washed off already.

My legs are so fried, I had to take today off instead of going to Flag.
