    Whiskey Off -Road

Well, against my better judgement I registered for the 50 miler, in singlespeed class no less... Anybody finish in this group before? What gearing should I be getting my legs used to?? All I have ever ridden in prescott is the granite basin trails...

It is way harder than Granite Basin.

    I run 32 X 21 and 22 up here, but I am a weak sser. Even strong folks probably wouldn't go higher than 32 x 20 (this is for a 29"er).

    So: Casual 32 X 22, serious 32 X 20

    Prepare to suffer.

Man, if you have to dip down to 32/20, my gearing, you know it's gonna be hard, Fuzz. You might have to find a faster guy to ride with, on Wednesdays. I'm just gonna hold you back.

i rode 32x17 (26") last year for the 25 proof.

now i'm on 29's and will either ride 32x18 (25 proof) or 32x19 (50 proof). haven't decided on what distance i want to do yet

Work late? Yeah, right. You were at home watching American Idol, or something. Hire me, and we can get all the work done quicker, be home sooner, and ride more often.

you really should go pre-ride the skull valley portion at a bare minimum.
only that will truly enlighten you.
This is just need to know information: Am i supposed to enjoy the irony or pity the sincerity?

I'm planning on riding some of this on the 25th am. Probably just do the copper basin to Prietta to TB park and back into town. Won't mess w/ the Mt Francis singletrack until I ride this portion a time or two.

Gonna do my practice runs w/ 32x18 (29").

I'm probably gonna sign up, after I see if the meds they're throwing at me this week, work, or not. Do you guys need a heavy equipment mech., or just a regular mechanic?

Not a bad idea at all.

Sounds good. Dan and I have been 'splorin these trails in this area a bit this winter and starting to get a feel for them. Some nice rides hidden in there.
