Where we riding' on the Fourth?

I won't be able to leave the city but gotta take advantage of the day off and hit the trails. Anyone got plans for a ride? PMP, SoMo, FINS, White Tanks? I'm up for some preferably chunky riding. As long as it's early! 5a is a great start time.

Throw up some ideas and we'll see who'll tag along!

You can count me in as a tag along
5am leaves plenty of time to hang by the pool, drink some beer and BBQ!

Do you mean MMP is closed? I don't see anything on the website. Was planning on a few rides there this weekend.

Damn...I keep finding ways to miss that....perhaps next year. FWIW, drinking only beer is like doping in that race.....Wild Turkey is more appropriate.

My wife will be driving the truck w/ a cooler of water bottles. We'll be leaving from Las Sendas @ 4:30 am. The truck is full for the ride back though, so you would need a way back. You're more than welcome to come along.

Where I rode on the 4th!

Just went out solo messing around on Trail 100. It's not the best edit but I'm tired of dicking with it...

No worries. Did I hit the high line you were talking about on that one section? There was only one other drop I wanted to try but didn't. It's not as hard as I'm making it (the hard part always is the head) but it's a double step drop that made me a little "I'd better not push my luck today" nervous.

EDIT: Remember that little tough climb where I took the right and you and Mike continued straight. The one I finally cleaned that day? I didn't make it yesterday Dumbass. It's a tough section and if I pick one small section of the wrong line it's over.

Thanks for posting that video Mike. I live right in that area and ride it often but haven't seen it on video. Now I can virtual ride from work from time to time.

I think I saw you that morning too. It was probably when you were reviewing some of the sessioning you were doing. When I stopped for a quick breather I didn't see you at first and then when I did it looked like you were texting....thought that was kind of odd. Now I know you were probably reviewing video.

Good stuff. Definitely love your videos!!

Quick question, do you wear long sleeves, or is that armor? Every time I watch one of your recent videos, I feel the temp in the room get hotter. Not sure how you do it, I'd die!!!!!

Nope, he was texting me. "I'm riding and you suck" was the text I received.

He has a really rare skin issue that we have all been asked not to talk about. Kind of like what Michael Jackson had.

Yes, I remember seeing you come up that little hill right when I was packing up. I think you caught me putting my camera back on the chesty and folding up the Gorillapod and putting it in my backpack. I didn't need to text Drew. He knows he sucks. Anniversary with the wife instead of riding? Pfffftt.

It's TLD soft armor under a cheap, long sleeve, $10 Titec jersey from Jenson that I don't mind if it gets beat up. I got 4 or 5 of them. I wear the long sleeves so I don't always have to put a buttload of sunblock on every part of me. With all the pads I just need to cover my shins, wrists, neck, face, & ears. My arms & legs being hot doesn't bother me much. My head... that's another story. Just about every stop that morning I'd take my helmet off to let some air hit the sweaty head. That feels great. A swig of cold water spat into the headsweat and then put back on is even better. Plus, with the long sleeves when I stop the sweat accumulates on the shirt/sleeves. When I start moving it's a nice little chill for 30 seconds or so.

Can't remember the last time I "used" the armor but I know the day I don't wear it I'm in for a hurtin'.
