    When the stars align

Every once in a while the stars align... the right conditions, the right companions, and the right trail. Tonight, after the rain, on Jedi, with some super fun friends, was just such a perfect moment.

I guess 10% chance really does mean it might rain.

Fun riding with you guys on Saturday. Bringing a 6" travel bike on a singlespeed ride is like bringing a gun to a knife fight or maybe the other way around but I hope I'm still invited to the next RockyC ss garage ride.

Trails today were still damp in spots. Great conditions.

We climbed Elden Lookout Road up to Sunset/Catwalk. First chance I've had to ride it since the trail work last week and it rides well. The switchbacks and rocks in Hobbit Forest have been getting a lot of love in recent years and it shows. Finished with a ride down Red Onion. The yellow columbine are everywhere in there. Nice.

Now back to our previously scheduled Hot And Dry.

Columbine bloom seemingly overnight. There's lots on Sunset and a few on Schultz.

It's so incredibly amazing what a little bit of rain can do!

you on your big travel bike is definitely the latter, Rockman. Nevertheless, it's always fun to ride with you, even though we have trouble keeping you in sight on the downhills. You've always had, and always will have, a standing invite on our slow old-guy SS rides, despite your proclivity to ride the on the dark side (gears).

Nothing slow about how you guys climb. On vintage 1990s era bikes to boot.

When's it going to rain again dbflg? Maybe Dora could send us a gulf surge.

Dora went too far south of the southern tip of Baja to generate a strong surge this far north. The surge only made it about halfway up the Gulf.

You can see the moisture surge here: Total Precipitable Water (data will age off quickly)

A few models have rain here by Monday...the rest of the models by the end of next week.
