Weatherford Road and The Overlook Trail

Have you ridden the old Weatherford Road near Flagstaff? Chances are you have. It's kinda historic.

I wrote a blog about it today. RockyChrysler.com: Weatherford Road

    Enjoy.

Nice research RockyC Chris and Mary live at the old toll house off Weatherford Rd. Where it takes off from Elden Lookout Rd.

I rode it on July 4th in the rain, the cloud-to-cloud lightning nicely substituted for the fireworks restrictions.

Cool historic info, I had just assumed it was another old mining road. Thanks for sharing!

The daft master and or the captain would never think of claiming a first hypothetical ascent....I'm quite sure it was some kind of mutated being(s)

It's been 10 years since I moved from Flagstaff, still have friends there and nothing but fond memories of the town and trails. The best thing is the multiple options for rides from town, so many great rides. I did not know that Secret trail and Orion Springs were taken out, those were so much fun, but overlook is awesome. I remember hiking up the Weatherford Road to the saddle and seeing a school bus over the edge. People on the Colorado front range think I'm crazy when I say the northern Arizona riding is better and that I don't ski because it's not convenient like when I lived in AZ.
    Tequila tonight, tomorrow we ride!

Secret is not really "gone", it's evolved and much better stuff is in place of Secret and Orion IMO. That side of the mountain has seen some relatively good developments, although I think keeping Overlook is a good idea due to the fun stuff on the trail (few drops, the old log-features that used to be there, etc).
