Wishing all riders a grand adventure and safe travels.
Of particular note, keep an eye on these three:
Eric Foster (Flagstaff)
Max Morris (Tucson)
Forest Baker (Sunnyvale, CA)
They are attempting to complete the bikepacking Triple Crown!! Godspeed fellas!
Thanks for posting that, I have been anxiously awaiting the start of this. Billy Rice started a YOYO on or about May 27th. He left Antelope Wells NOBO and is or is about to arrive Banff. He will then turn around for a full SOBO. NUTS!!!
The racers have begun to roll into Antelope Wells. Although not technically a course record due to re-routes in New Mexico, but Mike Hall absolutely crushed the 2013 route. He was over 24 hrs ahead of record pace before the 1st re-route near Abiquiu, NM less than 600 miles from the finish.
He posted up his Strava file, which is quite impressive regardless of the time taken, but look how many KOM's he bagged. Just silly.

Agreed, some epic performances. Some that I think go unnoticed.
Dueling it out right now for 8th and 9th are 51 and 52 year old Reto Koller and Saemi Burkart. they are in the finishing 73 miles right now. They are averaging 152 miles per day.
Some truly amazing bike riding happening. that last 150 miles in NM must be a furnace.
Kudo's to all who attempt the TD!!!
To add, Both Eric Foster and Forest Baker are still in it. Forest is nearly finished as well. he is like 75 miles out.

I really recommend anyone who spend lots of hours on a bike whether road or MTB, see this guy. My watt output went from 150 up to 205 while just easy spinning on his trainer with three small adjustments. (seat, stem and cleats)no increased effort.
Thanks for asking, hope to ride with you again soon.
