Hello All,

We have been receiving a lot of inquiries about what is happening with Freeride Fridays. So here’s the lowdown. Freeride Fridays started out as a fun way to get people together to ride some fun shuttle trails. TORCA board members were committed week in and week out for four years, to using the ride day to promote community amongst mtbers as well as promote our organization. Doing this cost a few board members a ton of $ in gas and the unintended consequence of abuse of their vehicles. As the years have gone by, these Fridays have become a big hit sometimes drawing as many as 30 people to a Friday afternoon ride. With most ride days in the range of 15+ participants, it’s become a losing proposition for us as $5 per member doesn’t even cover the gas for these fun ride days.

Unfortunately, we can no longer provide the vehicles for this event as it’s just too much to ask of anyone. BUT HERE’S THE UPSIDE. We have enlisted the help of Home Grown Mtb tours to help in continuing in what has become a bit of a tradition. Home Grown MTB tours has already become a big supporter of TORCA and donates 1% of their annual revenues to TORCA. They believe in the good work we are doing and want to support trail advocacy. We have enlisted their help in shuttling people to the top of Aspen and in doing so, they have agreed to start even earlier than before. So check out their facebook page for schedules and check back on our FB page for updates and days. We’ll post up on facebook as well as tmtb.com and mtbr.com just like we used to and let you know if we’re on every Thursday, just like we used to. Nothing has really changed, in fact things are actually better as they will be able to shuttle twice as many people as they used to. There will be a small increase in the cost as HG is a bona fide business. But just like before, members will get a sweet deal, so become a member and support trail advocacy and have a great time with Home Grown MTB Tours! We just got done working on Aspen Draw and cleared trees and snow so it’s on!!

See you soon!
