    Thanksgiving Weekend Trip - Peoria

Visiting family Thanksgiving Weekend in the Peoria area and thought about bringing my bike this year. Any suggestions on rides in the area? I am traveling from SD so I will have my car with me.

Bring your bike, and go ride South Mountain (heart of PHX) which is a 30 min drive from Peoria depending on where you are in Peoria. Boom....planning over!

Deems Hill (51st Ave & Happy Valley rd) will be pretty close to you.

What kind of riding are you used to/ what kind of bike do you have?

I am primarily a XC guy but have been getting into some Enduro. I have a Trek Fuel.

The Black Canyon Trail (BCT) is a good one too, since you'll already be on the north side. Miles and miles of sweet single track.

Deem Hills, Sonoran Preserve (North and South), Thunderbird Conservation Park, Black Canyon Trail, White Tanks are all fairly close by and have good riding. Beware that (especially at T-Bird), this is Hiker season, so, make sure to yeild properly and not give us locals a bad rep

Also, I have that whole week off and will be riding a lot, hit me up if you want a guided tour ...

Might just do that. Sometimes it's nice to ride with other people. As for the hikers, I am all about sharing. They have just as much of a right as we do.

Where in Peoria are you staying? BCT from Emery Henderson off of New River Rd. is a good starting point.

Just to the west of the 101. My grandpa lives in Sun City but we are staying in a hotel.
