    Sunrise Trail in McDowell

Is it better east to west or west to east?

West to East. Which ever way you decide it is a climb followed by a desent. I just believe that it is more fun to fly down the east side, very fast and has good flow.

^^exactly...climbing either is a grunt, but descending the east side is fun...just watch out for hikers and ample kitty litter in spots.

Havent been out on Sunrise in a long while. Planning a triple bypass tomorrow morning. Should be fun.

Oh yeah +1 on west to east. I have parked at the Lost Dog TH and ridden up Sunrise from the west down the east side and returned on Via Linda Rd. Climbing up the east side looks like a bear.

Never made it down the east side. I recall hiking there years ago when the trail opened, have not been back up that side since. I do like riding up the west side, that is a fun climb!!!

West to East for sure. I just did it last weekend from gateway and it's a grunt climb but within the realm of mortals. The climb up from the Sunrise lot isn't something I want to try...
