    spandex swagger

don't ask me why I bought this bike... it was $1800 on clearance at REI (2012 model).... but I really enjoy road biking the north valley and the fast speeds feel good when it's hot...

Its a Scott CR1 Team, with the american classic sprint 350 wheels, its exactly 17 lbs....

Ill be leaving now for cave creek..

A Roadie is great for a change up. Lots of nice road riding North of loop 101. I love my road bike.

Well, I increased my average speed by 1 mph on the Earls to Barlett Ranger Station ride using this bike... and I think the last ride I had the wind at my back going uphill, yesterday there was no wind... The big difference in average speed was when I swapped out the wheelset (in July), when I increased my average speed by 3 mph, but I also had been doing those my union rides between that comparison, so it was wheels and fitness that did that 3 mph increase. With fitness and new gear, My average speed went from 15 mph (in June) to 19 mph (now) on that Cave Creek to Barlett Lake Road intersection ride...

The things I noticed about this bike.
    1) its lighter... duh...
    2) the acceleration from a stop is not as good because its a higher ride.
    3) once accelerated, keeping a good rhythm is better.
    4) much better feeling of control at high speeds (25-35 mph)
    5) seems like it would be more comfortable on longer rides, but that is still to be seen.
