SoMo alert - dogs spotted off leash!

It was with great joy that I hit the trails this week with my pal Juan and a few of our dogs I've been in physical therapy for two weeks now for my replaced hip and it's made a world of difference. Wow, does one get weak (and fat) when they don't move for about 4 months! Recovery was not as quick as I had hoped - I had several early rides on the bike, only to be met with backslides into pain and misery. But I think I can now say that I am officially on the upside of recovery. I'll be taking is slow and easy for a while - no DHing and the Quadruple Bypass is probably out of reach. But, I'm back! See you out on the trails -Kathleen

Outrageous! Terrible! Horrific! Really though, look at those happy dogs. Pro leash law people just don't understand K9"s.

Is it a crime to shuttle your dogs?

Welcome back DG! Myself and another rider took our dogs up the 305 here in Preskitt a couple days back. I don't condone it, but only saw a couple of hikers and no bikers. Dogs had a blast! My dog however didn't fare to well, he wasn't used to 13.5 miles on sharp rocks! Poor guy is nursing torn pads on the couch as we speak. Glad your back and glad your pooches had fun.

I am cautiously optimistic about my recovery progress. I went up and down all the little hills of Desert Classic etc with ease, including the jaunt up to Corona de Loma. Granny gear and FS are my friends!

How long before you were back to "normal" after your hip replacements? I feel that my biggest problem right now is a lack of fitness and strength. But I'm working on it...

Great to see you back Kathleen - small chunks, little and often will soon get you restarted, then the doggies will have their work cut out keeping up!

That Juan is a champ for gallantly absorbing such smack talk from a gal who hasn't done much riding herself lately!
    - Joe (who's also pleased to see DG w/ FIP on dirt again)
