Very cool are you able to view the terrain from your radio control unit? Could you follow a rider on the Highline trail?

Seen it done. But to do a good job you need one to fly the coper and one to control the camera.

Excellent job with the video thanks.

I'm confused. Is it possible to have a post on MTBR about Sedona that doesn't involve drama & flame baiting?

    Very nice video!

    Scott:

Have you thought of starting a business out of your hobby? Maybe the FS could hire you do make a flight over Sedona once a week to search out new trails being built. If rogue trail builders were to see what your able to view they would certainly stop any new building projects.

Very cool! If you ever need a pro camera man- I know a guy (not me) who is not only a expert operator but also bike nuts too.

Rather than a law enforcement tool a more legit use might be identifcation and observation of peregrin falcon nesting sites. Even though they are now de-listed as endangered (I think) it's apparently an issue the FS examines or has to through NEPA. Unless, of course if the little chopper is noisy and has the potential to impact the birds. I'd discount that simply because it doesn't appear the FAA gives a rat's ass based on the scenic tour traffic.

Wow. I did not realize you could get so far away from the remote. Or is it kind of miss leading ?

I would say I get at least a half mile away, and I was sitting down. You can get much more distance if antenna placement is accounted for. Plenty of distance for me currently.

Come on Stormin. I am trying to find a way to catch future rogue trail builders and you call me an ARSSE. They use this same technology to track down terrosits.

I think the idea rockman had to search for the peregrin falcon nests is also a good idea. The FS says Hangover has a falcon issue that is slowing down the adoption process. Maybe Scott could use the heli to see if there really are any falcons out there to being with.

TD, I'm not the sharpest tool in the stable, and even I can read between the lines. I'm pretty certain the FS can too.

    OK, How about these ideas:

"There have been no serious workable solutions put forth, nor will there be, cause there aren't any.

Short of increased patrols, advertising, and maybe posting "Wanted" posters all over town offering rewards for the apprehension of rogue builders. "

Thanks for posting the video. Very cool to see Sedona from that perspective.

Next time I ride the trails I'll probably be lookup UP to see if I'm on camera :-)
