    Scouts High Adventure

I was given the opportunity to lead the High Adventure Scouts on a mountain bike ride during a portion of their week long campout at the end of May. As it stands right now I am looking at four groups, over two days, where ideally I want them to get in around 5-9 miles on some single track with moderate climbs and a bit of downhill. The campout is at Mormon Lake, and outside of the AZ Trail, I am having some trouble finding any info on trails on or around Mormon Mountain. Is there any decent single track up there? I am heading up there in about a week, and would appreciate any input.

google the Coco250 (Coconino 250 route on the Arizona Endurance Series website) to see the route in and around Morman Mountain/Lake.....nothing crazy out there, so you can probably piece together some good route including some forest road to make it a loop.

What do you know about the S. Kaibab trail. Is there any single track up and down from the Mormon Tank.

Cool! I did the same thing in my area several years ago. We did a mt. bike program with a 50 mile ride in Bend OR. Those young men might be more capable than you think and a 5-9 mile ride might be a little short.
