i'm planning to ride from ringtail trailhead (128th st.) tomorrow night if anyone is interested.

will leave at 8ish....wife works till 7ish

    ringtail and climb sunrise
double back on sunrise (up past the horse pipe by the overlook)
    down to ringtail again
ringtail overlook to lost dog wash
lost dog wash up to taliesen overlook
overlook back down lost dog wash
    jeep trail
    ringtail back to car (128th)

game for being flexible with time and route....not exactly sure when she's off work as it's her first weekend call at hospital.

    later,

Ummmm....just to save you some grief. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is actually a Preserve, not a park, and it's closed for all human activity from dark to dawn. Scottsdale P.D. has jurisdiction there and will write tickets for being there after hours.

The thought, of course, is that we humans use the area during the day light hours and then let the natural inhabitants use it at night when it works best for their needs.

sorry, didn't mean to promote something illegal.

didn't realize they would ticket you for being out there after sundown.

    new to AZ, my bad.

Somo is easy to ride at night if you need a fix. Just ask for the super secret parking spots. (not that secret really, just need to know where to go.) Been riding there for a few years at night and no one really gives a fuss. PMP can be ridden at night but I haven't done it so I don't know where to set up your base of operations. Don't give up! You've got the hall pass, use it! If I were in town this weekend, I'd offer a tour of somo but Mexico calls. Hawes is excellent night riding in my opinion as well. Some folks have done MSP at night, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. We need to keep a good reputation so we can keep riding during the day.
Today's the day I eat bikes.
