If that's the case, I might be able to get up a little earlier to get him. And with you driving him home I won't have to hear the , "did you see that one time when I jumped so high" stories.

Nope, sorry, tofu just doesn't seem to have the same thrust as sausage.

I'm debating this one. I have a birthday party I have to make it to at 11:00 on I-17 and Carefree Hwy. Count drive time and a shower, I don't know?

Like I tell my wife, it could be a 2 hour ride or a 6 hour ride. You can always turn around and head back if you're running out of time.

Oh, by the way (I knew something was bothering me about this thread)...

Rouge: any of various red cosmetics for coloring the cheeks or lips.

Rogue: no longer obedient, belonging, or accepted and hence not controllable or answerable; deviating, renegade

Gives us a little more insight into the No Clue Crew, eh?

Given that both of you have recent additions to your flock, I am not convinced either of you are in a position to say how effective that method is one way or the other.

Well, in preparation for this ride I popped my bead to add more sealant for the summer season. While bouncing my wheel up and down the free-hub popped off,....again. Not normally a big deal however this time I can't seem to get it to press fit back on, it just kinda lays there. 2 hours now farking around and I'm about to grab a beer or 6 and call it a night. Found two broken springs while I was in there, luckily I have extra, but still..........

    Did you EVA!

From this angle it looked FAR WORSE than from my vantage at the top. Fing HARD dismount!

I was gonna post my subpar first attempt at the spine but the video didn't do it justice at all. I felt like Captain Kangaroo bouncing down that thing but it didn't look too bad on film. Plenty of footage so I'll post it soon...

That is just brutal. Cheers to you Barry for riding the rest of the way down. I thought we were calling a chopper at first! Mike thanks for shooting all the video today- your waterfall was about four crashes that never hit the ground!

Barry's dismount looked bad from EVERY angle, the mtb gods were on his side today.

The uphills kick almost everybody's butt, just some get further before it happens. You did great coming down though, nice job.

I was gonna post my subpar first attempt at the spine but the video didn't do it justice at all. I felt like Captain Kangaroo bouncing down that thing but it didn't look too bad on film. Plenty of footage so I'll post it soon...
Damn. Now I don't feel so bad for feeling so bad.

Wrist, check, hurts like a mofo. Can't use it for much of anything, literally. Not sure how I rode down after that actually.

Neck, check, stiff. Left shoulder, check, stiff. Left side, ow...and ow. Lower back, check, stiff.

    Smiling, yes.

Thanks for taking good care of me, all. It looks on video as bad as it felt. Good job on the vid Mike.

My shoulder hurts now just watching that! Mend quickly pal.

Why is Mike's audio always the most interesting part of his videos?

You talk about going down in a puff of smoke, that is disturbing to watch. Glad you did not come out worse than you did, but probably doesn't feel that way. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!

Damn Barry, get well quickly. That looked bad. I had the volume down when I watched it the first time but watching it with sound was way worse. From the camera angle it looked like you just grabbed a bunch of front brake. Ouch!!

I don't know about the brake but I think Barry knows better than that. Right at the bottom of that drop he ate it on there were a series of little baby heads. I have no idea how it was even possible but somehow he got his front tire in between two of them. That's where it turned on him. You could see the tire prints in dirt right at that spot where it twisted. Could have been front brake at the wrong time. Could have been a complete freak accident. Dunno...

I'm just glad he was kind enough to do it right in front of the camera Everyone in MTB land thanks you, Barry

I remember video a while back of Cenobite eating it in pretty much the same place, pretty much the same way. When you stick your wheel in the wrong place, your body weight, plus your momentum, is going to twist those bars with a lot more force than most people will be able to hold back. Freak accident, Barry got lucky (although he may not feel that way tomorrow!!). Look at the crap we ride through, it's not like we don't ask for it, occasionally. We're always back at it once healed and for the most part we're all middle aged, or more. Insane? Nah, adventurous!!

Really shows how quick it can go south. That wheel just stops cold on him. Again heal up quickly Barry.

No, there was no front brake. If you get off the top of the berm there's some embedded rocks, hit them wrong and if you aren't ready to roll them, as I wasn't, bad things can happen.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting you grabbed the front brake, but with how quickly the bike stopped, that's what it looked like. Heal up man.

Alright, beaches. Who's got the master list of who rode?

    Grave9
    DesertCrawler
    cstem
    dsittman

    jcsxj

There was another Dave (besides dsittman) and a Mark but I don't know the usernames...

It looked like eatdrinkride. K3N, MJRDR might have been there but I didn't put a face/real name to username.

Fill me in. I'm trying to add some names to the video...

I really think desert crawler needs to rethink his avatar. It may be just the thing that jinxed him. then again, maybe he did it on purpose so he could be a rebel video star, and brake his own rules. hey dc, i hope you rise above your injury soon.

I knew you were Dave. I'll remember your name now. I thought dsittman was the guy with the gray hair (I hope it was gray now that I've said it) that was sessioning that big rock with Drew when James was changing his flat?

If MJRDR was there, his name is Mark. I just wasn't sure if he was there or not. I didn't see him in the video clip so I wasn't sure.

Scott (scaz) was the guy messin' around with Drew on that rock. I got him confused with Dave on the Turner. Not that either looks like the other but when you don't talk with or see people much it's easy to confuse them...

    Pretty sure Mark is MJRDR.

Video processing. Provided I like my first mix (and all the names are correct), which I usually don't, it could be up in a two or three hours (slow computer)...

Me thinks now I'm not gonna try the spine tomorrow...dang it all to heck!!! Oh..who am I kidding...I was gonna puss out again anyways. All seriousness tho...that looked nasty. If the wrist is swollen at all I'd go get an xray. Took a bad one coming down Natty a little while back and the wrist took the brunt of the fall. Xray turned up negative but def took a long time to get right again. Still feel some of the effects months later. Ice and ibuprofen should be your best friend for a while.

And just for the record...I was no where near SoMo or any big rocks messin around with Drew today ........Or was I

Didn't like the first mix and while the second was rendering I realized I missed two of Drew's runs down the waterfall as well as jcsxj's cherry pop down it. On a hardtail no less! Way to go James

So, it's rendering again. If I'm still up in 2 hours when it's done I'll upload. Otherwise it'll be tomorrow...

Oh man Barry you were a lawn dart and just plowed the ground, I am glad you could ride down and I hope you are not too f%$ked up.....that was one hard OTB .

We were just slightly ahead of you guys this morning with a new rider, Craig "Justin's Dad" ....He and I are the old senior citizen's of the group , he did one Barrel Roll off the trail and one OTB for his first ride on Natty, but nothing like the OTB that you did , I can't even watch that a second time .......Heal up quickly and you will be right back at in smoke'n down the "WaterFall" !!!

When I get the video up in a couple hours (gotta do one more edit) I left you in at about 5:05 I wish you could hear the audio a little better of the guys at the bottom cheering you on, "nice line!"

The crash from my camera's persepctive

The camera caught pretty much what I saw coming in the (what felt like) 0.001 seconds I had to consider it. I knew when the front wheel slid just a little bit and I saw those angled embedded rocks that it was going to be bad.

It isn't in this clip but the audio has me saying "I saw it coming" in the post crash agony.

Like Mike says, probably couldn't recreate that one very easily.
