San Tan Night Ride: Thurs. 8/15 7pm

Let's keep the Thursday night rides going. This time over at San Tan Regional Park. Meet at the Goldmine Trailhead (aka Dynamite TH) at 6:45p, rollout at 7pm. Here's a map for directions.

Plan on a 12 mile loop, hitting all the fun stuff and avoiding the sand traps!!

Remember, this is a regional park so there is a $6 per vehicle fee at the self-pay station or $2 if you ride in.

LOL! Yes and no actually. I need to talk to the boss (aka the wife) to make sure she can watch the baby.

After the bikepack, I still have some nasty neuropathy on my pinky and ring finger on my right hand. I'm hoping it will go away in a few days. I must have really pinched the crap out of my ulnar nerve.

Very non-technical, hilly, good flow. Great for night rides, I think you'll be surprised how good some of the trails are, there's just not a lot of them....yet.

Haven't been out to the San Tans yet. Is it HT appropriate terrain out there?

@Juggles, Yes it is HT appropriate.. I've done it a few times but I'm sure some of these trails I've not been on.

Ill be there... though where should I park at to meet up with you all. I've not really been there that many times.. and when I was there I only went up LF to GM and around that way bombing down GM!!

Trails are very HT friendly, SS friendly too. The Goldmine trailhead is at the northern end of the park. The closest intersection is Hawes & Hunt Hwy (there's a traffic light there) From that intersection head west on Hunt Hwy & take the first left (south) onto Wagon Wheel Rd. follow that up the hill, it will curve around to the right and turn into Skyline Dr. Park on the side of the road or pull into the trailhead parking lot. See OP for fees.

I'll be riding there from home, look for the Green Voodoo 29er.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight, good group as always. The ride started off with a BANG!! Not 30 seconds in, one of the guys GEAX Saguaro tires blew off the rim. Sounded like someone was shot, that got the blood pumping!!

Was a bad night for me as we were heading out of town. I'd like to try and make the next one though. Fun place to night ride.
