RR: Another report from the Kaibab

Finally got around to posting my Kaibab MX recap. Tons of pics from our northern gem. Get up there if you can.

    Cheers!

    Hi John:

So, if I wanted to camp and do day trips up on the higher elevations of the Kaibab plateau, what camping area would you recommend and what trips could I do. I am not a "have to do loops" kind of person.

Jeep trails don't bother me that much either

By no means am I an expert on the area, this was really my first time up there. But, from what I've heard others say in the past & based on the trails we did ride a few decent spots may be: Locust Point - you can do out-n-back rides on the Rainbow Rim trail in either direction from here. Maybe camp near the East Rim Lookout & do OnB's from here as well on the AZT. We were camped just off FR205 outside of Jacob Lake, a few hundred yards south of the AZT trailhead. That's really all can tell you, perhaps others will chime in who are more familiar with the area.
