    Rider down. This stinks!

I am off th bike for a while and this is stinks. Yesterday I had small slab of granite land on my foot just before I was going to go ona ride.

Wentto urgent care today and got x-rays. Nothing broken, but it is really tender and I can't put much weight it. Dr said to keep my weight off it and keep fit elevated. No pain now, but I will be off the bike for while.

Not sure how long I will be down, but hope it I will be back next weekend. So for now it just sit and read about riding.

18x24 inches and 3/4 inch thick. It was leaning sideways on the ground against the wall, long side up, when I was moving a dryer barefoot. When the dryer moved enough the slab feel and top landed on my foot. Slab broke, but not my foot. Just hurt like a motherf...er.

Sink countertop cut out? I had one leaning against the wall of the garage. Fell against the car while I was backing out and left a long gash in the door and front quarter panel. Just a car though, and not my foot. Sucks, man. Heal quickly.

A contusion like that, takes a few weeks to heal. Good thing bones are ok....that would sideline you easily for six weeks, minimum. Vitamin C and calcium are your friends.

More like a giant cutting board. FIL's business was granite so it was a polished left over.

Foot is getting better. I can walk on it, but not without a limp and some favoring. Swelling the joint at the big toe is going down. Tenderness on the ball of the foot is improving as swelling is decreasing.

I will need to evaluate on Friday to determine if I can ride or not over the weekend.

Foot is improving. Almost able to walk with out favoring it. The best news is that I was able to get my bike shoe on and did 13 roadie miles this evening. Foot felt really good, better than walking in fact. The only issue is a little tenderness if I put my foot down on the toe. Not a big deal on the roadie, but could be an issue on the trails. I will probably do a 2-3hr roadie Saturday and try to hit up Deems on Sunday. I gotta get some miles in before the Old Fashion Mtb race next weekend.

Well figured instead of the roadie do more climbs. Sonoran North and smooth twisty trails and steep climbs. Foot did well, but a little out of shape. Still I set a new PR on the big 13 mile Sonoran Loop by making up time in the turns rather than the climbs. So I guess other than some lost fitness I am back. Yeah!
