    Good job! RAD Roots

By now a bunch of you may know that I transitioned into mountain biking from the BMX flatland freestyle scene. That sure helped out on techy trails as I learned to ride with gears & suspension. Lately a couple of my old east coast riding buddies have been posting up some old pics, so I thought I'd put a blog post together from the 'good ol days'.

It was fun going down memory lane, I hope you get a kick out of it.

I completely forgot about Luc-E. I'm half tempted to go find a vcr and watch some old videos.
I've never seen you ride with headphones, is that because your brain has "Send Me an Angel" on repeat?

Steve, I only loop that track in the car on the way to the trailhead these days!! That movie inspired me to learn 360's though, torqued a half dozen forks in the process, but I eventually smoothed out my landings.

Those pics are awesome! I'll play and add a few of mine. As far as I know the BMX bike hadn't been invented yet and we rummaged for huffies. A landmark discovery was the drop-forged stem made by Schwinn to replace the even cheaper stamped metal goose necks. Inspired by Evil Knievel and Steve McQueen we were all about getting air.

I used to watch Rad then go outside and kill it on my backyard track. One summer I think I watched it everyday!

This thread is BAD ASS!!! Cool pictures. The only thing missing is some appropriate theme music. Here is a little Tiffany to get us in the 80's kind of mood. I remember she made my twigs and berries feel funny as I started to hit puberty.

Great post man! My uncle used to flatland here in Cincinnati. When I was young I would sit and watch him for hours while he practiced in the back yard. My grandpa poured a concrete slab for him to ride on since They lived on a busy street.

I can't tell you how many rear wheels I ruined trying to get 360's landed. I even broke one of my frames at the rear triangle in the process. I finally got it though!
