A questons about rim brakes that squeek

I am new to mountain bike riding and ive noticed after going down a couple of steed hills my brakes have started to squeak. I have searched online on how to fix it but i haven't been successful and I was wondering if anyone here can help me remedy this problem. Both the front and back squeak pretty loud.

So far i have removed the pads, cleaned them, lightly sanded them, and made sure my cables were tight.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Clean the rims, sand the pads again, (but a little harder this time), and if that doesn't work) consider replacing the pads. I still ride with v brakes. That's what I'd do.

Welcome to mtn biking! Toe the pads in towards the front a bit to help with squealing. And new pads are also recommended if they are over a year old. The rubber gets really hard in our hot weather and they become less effective at stopping.
