PSA about Sedona
I rode a few of the Dry Creek Trails today, Chuck Wagon, Aerie, Cockscomb, Mescal, etc. This was literally one of those days that the MTB Oracle writes a prophecy about. Apparently, it rained yesterday and lawd, were those trails sick.
Go get some, Sedona is sick right now.

From 89A going west, take Dry Creek Rd. There's a trailhead up there. Bathrooms were closed due to no funds, BTW. Mescal was an awesome trail. I could do it 100 times and still think it was awesome. Chuck Wagon too. What a beautiful piece of trail.
If the shutdown has any effect on Sedona, I couldn't see it. 89A was still a disaster zone for traffic. Oak Creek Canyon had a thousand cars parked on the shoulders though. I guess instead of using the day areas, people just park on the shoulder and walk in now. I just hope nobody gets plowed crossing a blind corner.

I rode those last Saturday and still have "permagrin" left over. I love the west side trail system Sedona has to offer. Most of the publicity goes to the east and north side (which are fun as well) but there is some good stuff out on the west side....

Go into Bike and Bean and get the good Sedona map. It's number 14 on the suggested ride list. You'll be satisfied.
