PMP - VOAZ beware of the rock Fairy.

From the top of VOAZ. The run down the South side also known as lower cheese. Almost every drop had a rock placed perfectly for someone to hit. Edge up about 8 to 10 inches from the back side of the roller/drop. Even after the bench at the bottom of LC over to the junction at 301 or 304, the two steps had stuff behind them. I moved the last one as I had not done my daily trail maintenance.

Probably a "do good" hiker. Saw that a couple weeks back going up that trail. HAB up. The steps were built up on the upper side not the lower side. Interesting...

Not that I can ride it anyway, but as I was walking down it, I did notice that a lot of stuff was different.

thread jack warning... tonight on DC there were bunch of "Watchtower" type pamphlets by the watertower. They were placed on the posts with rocks on top of them. Not sure how that ties into this but I found it messed with the mojo of my ride.

VOAZ is the kind of run that it shouldn't really matter. Be on your game.

I see these posts all the time. A "real" mountain biker doesn't care. : ) Personally, I know I have far too many other important issues to let any of this behavior take my stage.

I've seen them at the same spot in the past as well. If I were to become a theist I think Mormonism might be the best bet, no need to wear pads when you rock the magic underwear.

So I wonder how the garments "magic underware" are worn. Under the pad in the shorts or on the outside? Gotta be some brothern here that could answer that (but they won't).

He wasn't talking about VOAZ, he was talking about Lower Cheese and for those of us that know that trail we haul down it on the assumption that the trail has not been boobytrapped in such a manner as to hurt someone. We've seen lots of this on National and "being on your game" is meaningless when you are taking a drop you've taken dozens of times and all of a sudden this morning there are rocks littering your landing zone purposely placed to cause you damage. Seems to me you may want to see what the OP is actually talking about before letting your rectum speak for you.

Do you also drive around town in your car assuming stuff has not changed?
Sure, hauling down that trail is fun, but it is your responsibility to look out for yourself. Simply assuming the trail is maintained and in the shape you last successfully rode it is kind of short sighted.

Heck people it was a simple warning that someone is placing rocks in a particular manner on the trails we ride. I dodged everyone of them last night. Have before and will again in the future.

BigO, you know what I am talking about just be aware someone is playing games again out there!

When ever I ride PMP, I have a mentality that every rock is out to get me and to take me down. Especially when AzDog (partiboi) has been there the day before. He boobie traps everything to get at me! Like real boobies and everything.

Certainly, that's on everyone's mind. With that said there are things you look for and imagine the need to work around. Loose, washed out sections: Check. Dislodged rocks: Check. Cactus or tree overgrowth: Check. Rocks that were nowhere in sight yet miraculously and purposely placed to be hidden under normal circumstances and perfectly placed to harm someone. Nope.

Don't have any use for anyone who purposely tries to hurt someone else when they have done nothing to deserve it. Bullet meet Head.

This is the exact place for whining and then being called out for it. According to you he is the "whiner" and according to me you are the "caller outer." That makes me.......really freaking bored.

I understand your point and don't think many of us expect a trail not to change from time to time. I actually enjoy changes to a trail from weather. Yet I can pretty much guarantee if someone gets hurt bad from this crap. There will be a dozen threads and calls for action by the biking community, to find the person that intentionally placed objects to hurt someone.

Dude, for real? If you move around rocks for the express purpose of trying to get a total stranger to flip over and get hurt, you're a complete POS with no legitimate purpose in the world.

That's an initiation of aggression. If somebody got into a fight with the guy and he wound up shot and disposed down a hole in the desert, no fu*ks would be given by me.

unfortunately, you can never expect the trail to be unmolested. it is a simple fact. you just can't control people. we all have our own agendas. sure, get angry. but that isn't going to do anything or change the facts. you have to look out for #1.

I hear you and is why i posted this in the first place. Just a reminder that someone is playing games out there.

PS: Salsa should be ready to roll tomorrow. Got the last few parts in the other day. Having a hard time getting the rear Outlaw wheel to seal up. Front is fine so I'm thinking I need to redo the yellow tape.

    Whatever.

This isn't drawing down on somebody because they looked at you wrong. If you intentionally doing something to try to cause bodily harm and distress to a total stranger for no apparent reason, that's an initiation of force. He started it, and with no provocation.

We see eye to eye on this one...

Don't try to argue or discuss this with Skinny. He doesn't believe anyone can do anything that's worth taking their life. I believe the list of reasons is rather extensive...

Since when the law decided it's illegal to beat someone's ass simply because they deserve it. Unfortunately, to get away with it you usually have to catch them in the act.

I think some value life a bit less than others. And let's not confuse death with punishment.

If one was to physically catch someone placing boulders to hurt an indivdual. What would the process and penalty be if convicted?

I don't see the person hanging around while I fetch to the ranger or police. Seems like you let it go or have a confrontation to some degree.

I am serious, one can follow the person to their car and get a plate number. Besides that what options do you have but some sort of confrontation?

Sorry, I read "conformation" as "confrontation." Confront them. Tell them what they are doing could cause bodily harm, and possibly be illegal. Take their picture if you have a camera. Send it to the authorities, and post on here like they did for the ahole out at S Mountain.

I apologize for my spelling errors. Did those methods stop the guy guy at SOMO? Did the authorities pursue an investigation into his activities?

I noticed a rock fairy building up rocks and removing rocks to make obstacles easier. They will be punished, now where are those VOAZ punks!

i think it's better to just steer clear of any movie staring Dwayne Johnson, whether or not he's playing a fairy.

Sorry Tim. Not trying to be an ahole. I honestly wasn't sure if you meant confrontation or confirmation. I'm the last person to pick on somebody for speling erorrs.

My comment still stands: confront said person just to let them know you know what they are doing. If you have a camera, take a picture of them, send to relevant agencies, biking groups, etc.

Nothing has been done with this guy and likely nothing will.

We just saw him on National yesterday. We were at the top of that little section with the stairs on the right and drop to the left and he passed us going the opposite way. Seemed cordial. After he passed I said, "watch the trail now," and watched him as he meandered down the trail. It almost looked like he was looking for sh|t on the side of the trail but it was hard to tell where the trail was from our vantage point so he may have just been checking the trail he was on.
