    PMP 302 Perimeter Loop

This afternoon was pretty nice to try the whole 302 Perimeter Loop around Piestewa Peak. I picked it up from Irregular Link down Hairball, HAB-ed the rocky stuff, and went down the Bayless Connector instead of trying the steep switchbacks up to the Summit Trail where bikes aren't even allowed. I'll still give the switchbacks a shot another day just to ride them down.

BC comes out by a house and driveway out onto 23rd. St. Then headed into the park and up 302/304 to Cactus Garden with more HAB up to the saddle, where I fixed a flat, and beelined it back to the 40th. trailhead. Didn't even look at Cheese Grater, it was getting late. Ran into a fallen sahuaro right on the 302 near the main parking lots.

It was a pretty cool loop, only 8.5 miles long, but with all the HAB it took 2.5 hours to do at a slow pace. Great weather too, hard to believe it's mid-summer.

Funny - I don't remember Betsy having a sign up last time I rode that.
This is just need to know information: Am i supposed to enjoy the irony or pity the sincerity?

So, since it only specifies "Hikers", does that mean mountain bikes are not allowed on the trail ?

The sign is actually behind some plants and easy to miss.

HAB-ers are hikers off the saddle.
