Once again, I don't have any bike pics. My night photography passion is messing in a big way with my bike passion this summer. Hard to stay up all night and then hit the trail at the required time of butt-crack-of-dawn the next day. With the Perseids meteor shower in full swing, I opted for photography this past weekend.

Moon sliver over 4Peaks, taken from Aztec Peak in the Sierra Anchas.

Storm to the SE, Pinals to the SW, Milky Way over head.

My best meteor capture. Yea, I stayed up till 4am for this shot!

My best shot of the night, or morning. Meteor show was rather a bust, but you just can't go wrong with the Milky Way.

Well, its kind of hard to compete with that, for those of us using pocket cell phone cameras.

All pictures are good! Someone needs to balance my non-biking shots with some biking shots...

Photoshop can do wonders to a photo. Please tell me this is photoshopped.

I think photography is your true calling. This last shot is one of the most amazing photos I have ever seen.

No photoshop, but I do use Lightroom to process my RAW photos! Thanks for the generous praise... In 7 years, my house will be paid off and I'll be 58. Yea, you can call me OldDurtLady if you want.... Until then, I think I'll keep my day job and will continue to pursue photography as a passion. After that? Perhaps it'll be my second career! I really do love all aspects of photography. Funny thing is that I take pictures all day long at my current job, using visible and UV light, electrons, and x-rays. Guess I was meant to be a photographer, one way or another!

Awesome night shots! This shot is great, with a touch of light you added to the watchtower and the grass.

I've been so busy this past week that I never got around to uploading my Perseid Meteor shot.

This is a composite -- so, yes, it's "Photoshopped" -- of several hours of meteors.

More photos/info here: Perseid Meteors of 2013 | Flagstaff Altitudes

P.S. Currently in Bend, OR, so hopefully some bike shots later!

Noel, lighting strike? Were you near the tree when it happened, that is a very cool picture.
