    Photo Friday...

Here are some random photos from the week. It was a fun week with bikes and dogs and friends!

Of course, I'm also plugging another cattledog available for rescue through Arizona Cattledog Rescue. Lt. Dan is a very handsome three-legged cowdog being fostered by Cenobuns. See details on Lt. Dan at http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19686501?rvp=1

Arthur, the other little dog in these pics, is not up for adoption

Part of what I love about mountain biking is exploring new trails... sometimes you find some your new favorite ride, sometimes you find a bunch of HAB. My buddy and I thought we would explore the south side of PMP and come in from the lincoln dr parking lot. HAB all over the place.

That's all ridable on the way down. Just hang to your right next to the cactus to miss the big drop then cross over the the left and around the next step down. It's alot easier the first time to fallow some one. Just don't do what I did and over correct and run into the side of the hill to your left coming down.

Uh! maybe cuz your rep power is so ridiculously high you could afford to spread some rep points around to those that are not so "blessed"?
    or
Maybe your comment was too harsh on that poor dog!
    or
    Not!

Its a good loop with a ton of techy stuff. However the last part of the loop is closed off due to a bald eagles nest. My recommendation is do it counter clock wise. you'll get about 3 miles, and at that point you'll want to turn around. Not sure how it is coming back since i HAB up the side of the mountain to get to a different trail since i was running low on time.

    But its worth it

I did it once LOTS of years ago. Quite a bit was over me and my buddy's head. We were OtB at least 3 times each on certain spots. But, I was nowhere near the rider I am now. Not bragging about now, just admitting how bad I sucked then.

I remember it being quite a bit of fun. Especially since we fished there all the time. It's nice to see something with a completely different pair of goggles on.

Here are some shots from earlier in the week. I travelled to Salt Lake City for work (as I often do), but took a little time on this trip to get some quality riding in with my buddy Lance (an excellent tour guide BTW). Two days on two different Wasatch single track systems (Lambert Park and Sundance) I'm not soon to forget. Was a great break from our pretty sweet (but pretty hot) trails this time of year!

    Map of our Sundance riding.

The lifts were closed due to severe thunderstorms earlier in the day, so we hit some lesser-travelled dirt.

My buddy Lance (seems pretty happy, how could you be otherwise with backcountry like this within 30 minutes of your house?).

    Some random shots from Sundance:

Here's the map from L:ambert Park...

...and a few shots from Lambert.

SLC has some great benefits; killer trails/scenery, great mtns., & exceptional snow skiing. Best snow I have ever encountered in all of my travels all over the western U.S. + a shorter drive to other great areas than from Phx! The people always seem to be friendly & helpful too!
