    Papago deer WTF

I thought I was seeing things riding along the canal by Papago until it moved. It must be part of the zoo or something, it sure surprised me.

Is that in the fenced in area? Two mountain goats (is that what they are called) live on that rock. It is part of the zoo. I ride there every week and it is really cool when you see one or both of them, or it could be a deer.

Yeah, that's in the zoo. Pretty cool and very unique riding experience to see those guys as well as hearing the lions roaring.

    Mtn Goat or Sheep?
(usually one of these is causing an accident on the Seward Highway on the way to Alyeska as tourists focus on the animals on the side of the road and crash into another car)

Gill, that's the bighorn sheep exhibit at the Zoo, believe it or not there are 19 sheep split over 2 exhibits. I find it amusing that the trail users typically see the sheep hanging out on the backside of the butte, but the Zoo patrons only see the rocks!

It was right at the center X in this sat. image, it had what looked more like antlers than horns, and body pretty similar to big horn sheep. It's really cool.

The coolest part is watching how easily they trot around the perimeter of that rock. 5.10 should make shoes with mountain goat soles!

Cool Papago pics for sure. I saw two 8 point bucks on the coachwhip trail friday morning in McDowell. No joke. I had a good 20 second view of them as they ran across the trail. They were not too big, but each had 8 points on the rack.........
