    A.P.B.: Missing Bike - Cancelled

    Hey All,

Fixie Dave, (SlowerThenSnot on MTBR) is missing his Tour Divide rig. He came through Phoenix early Wednesday morning on Greyhound, transferred buses on his way to his New Mexico race start. The boxed up bike was seen at the PHX depot but it is unknown if it actually made it on a bus or not. It did not make it to his destination in Lordsburg, NM.

So, it's been MIA for 48+ hours. I searched the lost/holding/xfer baggage room here in Phx last night to no avail, so while the hope is that it simply got misplaced on another bus and will find it's way back, it's possible that someone saw an opportunity to grab a boxed up bike and took it either here or at a stop in Tucson.

If you see someone riding around town on this and they're not riding it to Banff, yeah, it's probably not theirs.

If you work at a shop and someone brings in a mountain bike with a rear wheel thats "broke" and won't freewheel, it's probably not their fixie.

Frame and fork are by Eric Baar at Ground Up. Frame is Ti, fork is steel.

Rundown of bike, parts and most of the gear that was shipping with it in this vid:

The Tour Divide is technically the longest shuttle run (cue Jeremy Clarkson voice) in the world, so you knuckle draggers keep your eyes peeled too, okay?

First off, that sucks. Second, I'll keep my eyes open. Third, isn't riding a Greyhound bus on the Tour Divide cheating?

If you get this, You are welcome to my kit, it is TD ready. I may be able to dig up a bike. Not sure how i can get it to you but the offer is out there.

    Cheers- JIM

Just watched your video on your kit, I think i can duplicate it, with some different brands, but same basic stuff.

    Update

Dave's bike has been found and reunited with him tonight in Tucson. It was with Greyhound the last 7 days. APB cancelled.

I'm sure Dave will have a post or blog update with details in a few days.
