Don't forget about the Raven if you want a little more "natural" cuisine, oh and by far the best beer selection in town!

I have not been to Prescott in a couple of years, but when I lived there, I had Hugos at least once a week. At the time, the most amazing fish tacos I have ever had, still to this day. Are they still as good?

Gunna have to dissagree with that, plaza liquer& deli has at least as good beer selection& great pizza! Way cheaper for the high end stuff like gulden draak and chimay too.

After the Whiskey last year I hit up Maya's and demolished a plate of potato and cactus enchiladas before heading back to PHX. Kind of partial to the place 'cause they dont use lard in any of their products.

The Indian buffet is also a good after ride meal. Plus you can go see Ed next door at Southwest Sounds and Cyclery. The coolest bike store around!

I agree w/Jayem -- although ALL mentioned are fantastic! -- but a 'Za at Plaza Liquor & Deli and sitting out on the Patio (especially Happy Hour!) is Da'-Bomb!
    * But you can't bring your hound(s) INTO the patio any more w/Heath-Codes, etc.
LOCATION is 2-blocks off / toward Thumb-Butte of Montozuma St./ Whiskey Row on Goodwin Street.

True, it took me 3 days to finish a small pizza from Plaza a week ago.

There is (or was) a barbecue joint in Prescott Valley on the north site of the road called Pearl's Place. Right next to the honey store. That place is pretty good.

It looks like they have moved or added a new location in downtown Prescott.

Does anyone know if the PV location still there?

    Maya (bring your own beer)
    Plaza Liquor (buy yer own)
Firehouse Cafe (new owners and the food is excellent now)

Sadly, I have to say to avoid the Raven Cafe these days. Not the worst choice you could make, but they are slipping in a big way.

No longer in biz. They shut down probably 6 months ago. Rustica was decent Italian across the street but they just shutdown...only thing left in PV is fast food & crappy bar food

Pony Expresso is okay for lunch, haven't been there for dinner and the best mexican (which isn't saying much) is Casa Bonita.

The guy that owned Pearl's Place also has Larry and Hy's BBQ on Whiskey Row. It is quite good.

Given the choice, I would take Bill's Pizza every time.

I agree about the Raven. That new menu stinks.

I never thought the old raven menu sucked, but it was overpriced for what it was, add to that the fact that you can get the same high end beer@ plaza for cheaper and i have little incentive to go there, except that it can be a nice place to han out. Plaza isn't a nightclub in the same sense. I think we have a lot of good places to eat, few if any that id call great though. Maybe i haven't been to enough, but it's also hard to say some of these are better than the others.

How's the steakhouse on the south side of the road out of town in PV? A lot of cowboy hats coming out of there.

+1 for Casa Bonita. Personally I like our own homemade chicken tacos above anything first, but for eating out, Casa Bonita is always our first choice. I don't like to bag on my town, but the restaurant's here just really aren't that spectacular. Average food, with above average prices IMO. But, never had a bad plate at Casa Bonita. Good service too. I'm not sure if it's low key though, given its pretty good size and busy location. FWIW. .

OT: the best chicken tacos I have EVER tasted were at a place called Shalaylee's on Carefree highway. Unfortunately, no longer in business.

The best Mexican in the Prescott-PV area, IMHO.
