Nice roll Pilot. Maybe next time you can convince me to add in VOAZ. Still love blasting down the Red Monster! Laugh when I think back that I use to walk that section.

Should have the Spring for the Salsa any day. You are always welcome to use it and join the fun. Unless you don't prefer riding that 1000 pond DH rig bring it.

    Pilot,

Seems like that wheel will fit a Lyrik but not by much.

Thanks man, that's generous. The 60 lb (literal) rig is detailed and sitting with no drivetrain.

I will one day. Call me a baby, wussy, little girl and so on. It is going to be like the 220 chutes. Once I finally do it, I be saying why did I wait sooo long to ride that section.

I was just happy to be out ridding. VOAZ kicked my butt again.

The 220 "Chutes" has gotten quite dumbed down a bit since I was shown them about this time 2years ago. I remember there wasn't any go around on the water bars. And the water bars were alot taller and more sketchy. Now there is so many different lines on it and the water bars are almost non existant. Which in return has made that section blown out and almost non sustainable. Maybe we as in the folks who maily frequent this thread, who probably rides it the most should dedicate one tues or thurs and rebuild those water bars, and shut down those go arounds......... Just a thought and figured it's the right thing to do! Any comments???

Just had a thought. There are two spots on 220 north that I walk. Those would be good prep sections for the first part of the cheese.

I think you were in the buffet line when I rode the chutes.

Would we need a trail boss? Who would lead this trail repair and what trials have they repaired to qualify them to makes such decisions?

Oh wait that a different thread. Hell yes lets fix it back to the way it was or at least fix the go around.

There's only one Trail Boss. I'm not gonna set off a turf war or anything by trying to horn in on somebody else's territory. Besides, have you seen that guy? Clearly mentally unstable. I'd rather not have a surprise ice pick attack to the neck.

I'm just saying you should come back, clean up all the rocks out at PMP. So those clown wheels can work to perfection on manicured paths is all.

Sheeet, I wish I was born in 84'. That would mean I could still ride with a camelback filled with 151 rum. And a PBR as my gu for extra boost on my rides!!! Then ending the ride with a whole pig, instead of just a half a rack of ribs.

Gym ain't gonna help with VOAZ climb unless your doing lunges and squats.

I do 30 minutes on the bike in cross country mode. Then spend the next 30 checking out the SCC scene, i mean doing the circut training.

Maybe I go for a Clown bike spin down the greenbelt. I can track where DDB rode his 4 inch wheel machine to Fat Tire. Says there are pics but he failed to post them as he claimed.

Get rid of the xc bike mode. The lunges and squats will help more and you can spin on the greenbelt later for cardio. Still do the circuit training though.

If you want to get strong muscles, get a cheap single speed and ride that around. Work the hills with a 42/16 road bike and you'll be strong like bull.

Was thinking two routes. Up to A&W, or a 220 chutes over to the 1a (Upper Mine) and back around to the fence line switchbacks. Judgement call from there depending on light. I am up for suggestions if someone wants to do something different, except no Hairball for me. Not enough time for me to walk it!

It would be a nice long dh to do The A&W backwards.

Just going down what we normally climb. You can turn left on the shale climb or go straight to back of sassy.

Not the coming down part that's going to kill me. Some big climbs doing that loop my friend. I'll be toast when we make it to the AW house. Then you will drop in and climb up out of the wash. Plus the last climb before the decent.

Only one climb up 8a. plus the road climb but you should be fine since you have a 29er.

    29'er is for the greenbelt.

Not sure how you figure 1 climb plus the road. That's just to get to AW, if you drop in heading North from AW. You have 2 nice climbs there also before the decent to 40th.

That first hill heading north from AW is worse than the climb up to AW heading South. Speed will help but you are not coasting to the top my friend. Plus after the wash you're not going to have any speed tough guy.
