    Need advice near Alpine, AZ

I'm planning a family trip to Hannigan Meadow in eastern Arizona. Anyone have any experience or guidance of where to ride near there? It's by Alpine.

It would be great to ride something techy/difficult but I'm not picky.

    thanks!

a lot of dirt roads out there (which I love riding) but very little if any singletrack... and don't recall any technical singletrack out there...

I guess los burros trails near pinetop would be the closest singletrack wtih some tech, but that is a long drive from Alpine.

Alpine Ranger District Trail Guide has most of the trails in the area. It's from 2009 but nothing much has changed except maybe some lingering closures due to the Wallow fire in 2011. Some of the trails got hit hard from the Wallow fire, but not sure of the current state. Call the Alpine Ranger district to get the latest scoop. Also a big swath of NF land around Alpine is now closed - CLOSURE MAP - which include several of the trails area.

Hey Dale, what is that trail between Greer and 273 with all the water bar jumps?

East and West Fork trails.. It's been a few years since I rode this loop. Was one of my favs prior to the fire, and haven't ridden it since.

Georges Valley Trail is north of Alpine. Read there's a network in the Williams Valley west of there. South of Hannigan Meadow several trails head in to the Eagle Creek drainage that I'd like to explore on bike.
