Lost phone at PMP Trail 100

    Hey all,

I think it's a longshot but I lost my phone this morning out at PMP - it was my first time out there so I'm not exactly sure about the trail names but it was a Trail 100 offshoot at about 32nd st where it bends around to head back to the 40th st and Shea lot. Zipper maybe? Not fenceline but the adjacent trail to the south.

Anyway if anyone finds it or has any other ideas of where I can post (hiking forums?) let me know.

    Thanks...

Can you show us on the map where the trail touched you?

A few of us will be out there tonight, I will keep an eye out. Zipper runs parallel to fenceline for the most part, if that is the trail you mean.

This is the best estimation I have- where it's highlighted. I doubled back twice looking for it, it's amazing how many squared off phone size rocks there are lining the trail!

Anyway thanks for responding and thanks in advance to those of you keeping an eye out- you guys are awesome...

Maybe exchange PM and provide your phone number to the people that will be out there... they can call it a few times when in the area.

Success! ...Philbo I didn't see your post until late last night, but was able to take another phone out to the area this morning as you suggested and and tried calling to locate -no luck.
Did a little poking around online and realized I was able to GPS the location - someone had picked it up while hiking. GPS led me directly to the house, I left a note and a few hours later he called me. He was a bit freaked that I was able to find his house, but I was lucky he was a good Samaritan...gotta love technology...

Thanks for the help and suggestions all - be safe out there....

Side note - PMP is pretty damn cool! - seems like you can piece together some nice loops out there - I will definitely be back.

I found a phone once and it was unlocked so I called my phone from the found phone to get the # and then called the number and left a voice mail with my info. Got a call back from the owner the next day.

It did not have any ICE info. I bet it does now

It's a Windows phone - It has a "find my phone" feature built in that I was initially unaware of - it allow you to ring it, lock it, and put messages on the lockscreen (contact phone number, email, etc) and to locate it from a remote computer. It worked really well actually.

I do seem to recall there was mention of some apps out there though for the Iphone and Android that will do the same thing it seems...probably worth looking into...

I found a phone once, actually pretty close to where the OP lost his. Started looking through the Contacts, and lo and behold, found my SO's name and number. Turns out, it was a good friend, and they had no idea they had lost it. Talk about small world, eh?

Prey is the best app I've found for phone/computer security. Use their website to report it missing and you get GPS coordinates, screen shots, and camera shots. For computers the camera shot is great to see who is using your laptop.
