not this instant...but yes...I will be doing the full coco. My comment was more to the point that I have no desire to ride the desert at this time, I prefer the company of pine and even oak these days. You see...your Aunt Jenny and Uncle Conrad, they wanted you to have nice things. Do you like Oak?

Wish I would have seen this yesterday, I would have done this ride with you. I am looking to log more AZT miles. I'm sure it was warm out there. What did it take to get it done? I am guessing about 5 hours or so?

Ezra, it is really an underrated ride. More people to get out there and do this loop. Forest road climb is long and a grunt, but all rideable. The views at the top are tough to beat even on a hot dusty day. We were running a bit late all day so we had to jump ship back to FR650 for the final 10 miles. Our water was beginning to run low & boil over. We ended up being out there for 8+ hours, but my moving time was 5:22, so I think someone with your ability on the climbs in cooler weather could do that loop in under 6hrs. I'll post up pics & recap when I get the time, family is coming in for a visit next weekend. Btw, the catclaw was pretty rough as were the Russian thistle, I gave blood today. It reminded me of the good 'ol days of Picketpost south rides.

Going to head back out to Picketpost tomorrow, 6/23, to finish the ride we started 2 weekends ago. Anyone is welcome. We're shooting to be pedaling by 6a from the Picketpost trailhead. This will be a much shorter/easier ride than the first one. We'll be riding up FR650 to the second AZT crossing roughly 10 miles of nicely graded climbing. Then we'll ride the AZT back to the car for a total of 18.5 miles, shouldn't take too long, avoiding the heat.
