Sunrise is Arizona's only lift assisted MTB park. Check our L8bops vid and you will get the idea. Candy is a "used to be Secret" shuttle mountain a few miles away that is short shuttles and sikk runs.

oh man, I MIGHT be able to change some things around and make this. IF I can, and IF I can hold on to my bars with my right hand by then, I would go on Sunday. I'll see how things are going for me over the next day or so.

Right now everyone except Phil is meeting in Tempe, correct? If you are joining Phil for the fountain hills pick up let me know.

The shirts are in stock and will be 10.00 including a sticker (Voyage patron deal). Once we leave Tempe they will be 15.00. And if Phil wants one its 20.00. So bring some extra cash if you want to be the first to don your fresh Gnar Gnar apparel .

If we are all, all good see you 5:30AM Sunday the 5th in Tempe for the Shred Cruz departure.

We had a blast. Got to Sunrise a little late, 10:30 maybe. Hit the slopes until the line got ridiculous. Bob and I got in three solid runs, stopping to take some pics and stuff. We did Fungus, Slippery/Ladders and Yard Sale. When we got to the van for sandwiches and PBR we found half the group headed to Candy already so we voted to go too. (the sandwiches were good and the pickles were great!) Did 3 runs down Candy. Lots of cheese wedges! I got caught in a rut and tumbled into a sticker bush by the big jump. On the second run one guy went down in front of me, I made it by but the guy behind me crashed too. I think a couple others wiped out too. Nothing serious as far as I know, just bumps, scrapes and bruises. I think we all had more fun at Candy! Even with the wipeouts.

Bummed I missed out on the last Sunrise trip till next summer. Glad all you Cruz patrons had a good time and the boat still got everything home safely. Thank you for sailing Gnar Gnar Tours.

Big thanks to all the Candy poachers for helping out on breaking the trailer. I hope to get it fixed or a loaner before the end of day tomorrow. Otherwise Wednesday shuttles will have to be called off.

Bobby thanks for the pictures! And if anyone has any other stoke to share please post it up.

Yeah wish I got to you before my boss and I quit for the day today. We could of probably came by and did the repair for the cost of material. If you dont get anything done before tuesday let me know and I will talk to my boss and see if we can hook it up price wise to sleeve the old trialer and make it sturdier then before. And damn man I thought people threw down some bones for the shuttling. BTW where is Joey from CACTUS bike posting the pics from yesterday at? We got some mad pics and I would like to add them to my collection.

Colin are you going to sleeve the broken trailer from the inside with some 14ga or bigger?

The only positive part about this is I got to relax on the ride back, my rig got to ride shotgun next to me so I didn have to sit and worry that my 4k+ DH wasn going to fall off the broken trailer.

Sleeve shmeeve. We'll probably just use heavier guage tubing, or my trailer untill we build the new one.

Glad to hear everyone had a blast!!! Almost wish I'd went to Sunrise/Candy instead of super dusty and blown out Colorado. We'll get that trailer fixed asap and the new trailer will be even sicker than the previous versions. And to the Candy only riders...please remember who supplied your complementary shuttles in the future and who to turn to for your gravity transportation needs. Sorry to those that PM'd me late Saturday, my box was full, we'll get you up for some shredding soon. Post up more pics and stories!!!!

I highly doubt that. A little birdie told me there was at least a 12 pack left.

PBR never goes in the dumpster...it just sits in the garage until the next trip and then gets a nice ice down. Guess Zuky is bringing PBR's for the vets on saturday!!! Free beer ala zukicidal...yeah buddy, way to step it up and hook the troops up. You'd better bring 40 or 50 PBR's...I hear those vets can drink like fishes...

Well a little birdie didn't count them. There was a six pack at the most. We drank a lot of them on Candy. BTW, the beer never got iced down. We drank it warm all day. Thanks for the "iced bevies" that we paid for. Someone yelled "who wants the last of the beers?" and I said "Me". Nobody said anything about saving them for the next run. I sure hope you're not saving those left over smashed up ham sandwiches. They might be past their prime.

I don't understand the issue here. We paid for a Gnar Gnar Tour. It included a round trip ride, food and beverages. How is that YOUR beer? It's just annoying that I'm being called out on it when we already paid for it, and nobody else wanted it that was on the "tour". Now I'm expected to bring beer for everyone on the next tour? I'm confused.

I can take a joke and a little ribbing but by the emoticons you are using you sound sincerely pissed off. WTF? If "left over" beer is to be saved then you might want to mention that before we leave.

dude...it's a joke. welcome to the wonderful world of mtbr

but what was left over was going to be used on the next tour. was just a little shocked to hear that it just kinda walked away. maybe we should have explicitly said what the leftovers were to be done with. hopefully you can take the ribbing and feel comfortable on the next tour. wise man say..."don't worry about getting picked on...be worried if you're not getting picked on"

Next time ride with another local there were a few looking to split gas this last trip . 3 of us took one truck and it cost 20 bucks each round trip with no headaches. Plus our bikes were vry secure. I seen how the van jumped out to pass a car then dodged back in quick as there was an incoming car sccaaarry .Although I know Bob wasn't driving and I didn't see Andy . So thats not normal .

Very true clock...I nor Andy were driving. We have taken this up with our new driver Zack and thanks for letting us know. As for the cost and such...to run the van/trailer it costs insurance, tires (which we just put new ones on van and trailer), gas, oil changes, driver pay, lunch, drinks, beers, etc. So if you were to add up all that for your personal trips and a dedicated shuttle driver, it would probably come out to about the same and some riders don't have the network to hook up trips with like minded riders. Now due to the extra riders that decided to hop in the van and not feel the need to kick down donations, we have to pay for a repair on a trailer that was only intended to carry the 8 riders that joined in on the tour and would probably not have buckled due to extra baggage (bikes and riders). But what is done is done and we will now have a bigger, stronger, better trailer and take a better look at who is supporting their local shuttle business trying to bring riders and trails together or just taking advantage of a "free" ride...

I think everyone had a great time and hopefully sees the value of riding in the burgundy van... Thanks to you all and wish I was there ripping with ya!!!! Till next time...

As for costs and such yes I know they added up but your saying the 8 paying people who went didn't cover your costs for that trip ? ..but those are the risks of trying to run a bussiness . But no if I added everything I could it still wouldn't have cost me what you guys charged to go to sunrise unless I went by myself . If others join I am still using all the same resources but its cost everyone less for the same trip . The key riding in groups is to keep costs down .

You guys had more than 8 riders booked so the extra people jumping on at candy didn't do anything more than if you guys had the full load that was going to go .Although it does suck they didn't pay something or anything .
