    Kentucky Camp Stoke

So the Kentucky Camp AES race is coming up this weekend and it will be my first time on the course. So how about a little stoke from past rides? Pics, stories, etc. Maybe post up what beer you are bringing so we can make sure we have a nice variety.

Good luck to everyone riding and see you there.

You got me bummed out. After the PPP race, I really wanted to make this but I can't due to other commitments. Have fun out there!

Maad's pictures are a good place to get stoke. Not just saying that cause I'm in one of them.

That's not you in those pics, it's Nancy and Jim.

Forgot I had some pics from the '10 version too, this was my second AES event, the 29 mile route. Most of the riders pictured were passing me from the long course!! I had just picked up a GPS, didn't know how to follow a track on it, so I did the route via cue sheet. Borrowed a buddy's bike, tubeless - no sealant & didn't have a pump!! Fully prepared.

Yeah I got hooked riding that race but cramping for the last 25 miles after training for 3 months left me feeling a bit let down with myself. While finishing is always an accomplishment and one Im proud of there is part of me that knows I could do better and wanted redemption. Since I wasn't planning on riding the KC it took a little work to move things around with my wife and Im lucky she is so supportive. Im also looking at the McDowell race.

I need to just quit signing up for KC. I can't make it again this year, other stuff to manage this weekend. Have a great race everyone. See you at the Jamboree!

I've got a write-up from 2011. Last year was bunch of the same minus Freeskier. He grew some monster legs last year and dropped me on the first switchback. I was a steady 15 minutes behind until KC proper, when I spent an hour patching a crap tire. Still a good day! Bummed I'm missing another AES event, but I kept my DFL streak alive last year, why not keep the DNS alive this year! I'm convinced 2015 will by my year.

I don't see anything in the AES rulebook about bionic knees. So, you will likely dominate.

This has been my plan all along. I'm currently working on upgrading my shoulders so I have ultimate HAB-ability. Perfect for AES.

Damn, I thought that was the paparazzi and they had mistaken me for George Clooney.

Damn, I miss being out there with you nutjobs! That's alright. Next year I'm going to dominate.....the middle-to-the-back of the pack!
